This afternoon I had a special treat.  I attended a concert by Guy Hovis at the retirement home across the street from my house here in Greenville, Mississippi.  Sis’ grandmother lives there and told a friend that he would be there so I was able to go, although it was not an advertised concert.  It was a cozy setting there in the lobby with just rows of chairs set up facing a fireplace.  I arrived early as Guy was setting up his equipment and was able to sit right in the front row about 4 feet from where he was standing.  He saw me as I came in, came over to give me a hug and ask me how I knew about it.  Then Sis came in a few minutes later and came over to speak to me as well.

Guy put on a superb show as always.  He did a one hour show" (and sang 30 songs, too numerous to list here!)

He stopped to chat with the audience between numbers and made it a very unique occasion for one of the residents celebrating
her 99th birthday by singing
"Happy Birthday"
for her special day.
